Who Has Successfully Tapered Off Prednisone???

Hello everyone.

I was wondering who here was able to get off Prednisone for an extended

period of time? If so, do you still use it for a flare when things are bad

enough?

I took prednisone for just a few months, waiting for methotrexate to

take effect. (It never did take full effect for me.) When I read about

all of the bad side effects, I tried to get off of it as soon as

possible. I haven't used it for a flare yet. It's a possibility,

though. Maybe one of the dose packs wouldn't hurt since it lasts only

6-7 days, as I recall. I am now on Enbrel and Celebrex, but do have

some aches and pains lately. Sue
