Guest guest
Hi, this would be interesting to hear a feedback should you seek to receive consultation w/Judy. Do you have her book on Special-Needs Kids Eat Right? Yesterday, my son had a follow-up w/one of his doc's & it was such news to hear how much my son's latest lab results were the markings had shown decreased where it is no longer leaning towards Leukemia. Doc begin talking about the inner body system to T-cells to all that medical term like defining within his passion of why he enter on what he does. Amazing what food reactive has stirred up within my son. Inflammation of the gut, autoimmune system & especially the brain to all that multi-symptoms he has undergone. When my son's name was called the doc comes out to greet us & was pretty impressed just observing how he enter following the usual routine, test, etc., compared to the past. He would quietly tell the nurse w/him that this is another because normally he would not be so calm, cooperative, such eye-contact, etc. Then the doc return to the room my son was at, was smiling proudly to share such wonderful news, yes, as he tells me it is such a process but the latest results have shown such good progress, recommended that I continue with the diet, supplements & whatever anti-meds he is under. My son even gained, to us this was good as he once weighed 107, when his health deteriorated, he lost so much weight, went down to 84 lbs. to him being on such eliminating such food reactive items to gaining was wonderful to observe. Never hurts to receive such consultation to see if there is anything triggering anything your child is undergoing. Should you decide to, please share. I do enjoy reading if any action plan towards any information or strategies of such any transformation within this arena. Thank you. Guest guest
Yes, I checked out her book at the library and have ordered it for myself. I hope things work out really well. I am so glad to hear how well is doing!!! > > > > > > Judy Converse writes a really great blog - you can find it at > > > > > > http://nutritioncare.net/blog/ > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I got this book from the library (just by chance) the week we were discussing what oils to cook with. I think she recommends safflower but I couldn't find it at the regular grocery store and I keep forgetting to look at the Co-op. What I am intrigued by is her strong recommendation of cod liver oil. Wasn't that big 60 years ago?! And I keep trying to figure out how to talk my boys into having two or three spoonfuls of cod liver oil every day. I would love a consultation with her! And I loved the explanation between RAST testing and ElISA. Isaac tests positive for testing on ELISA and nothing on RAST but he truly, truly goes bonkers if he has gluten so I remain furious at the allergist who claimed ELISA testing was false (yes, I know, I will try and get over it someday). I remain unclear as to how to make sure my boys intestinal flora is good. But every parent dealing with Pica should read her book. It made more sense than anything else I have ever read. Though this isn't our issue so maybe I haven't read enough. This is also the 3rd thing I have read regarding diabetes and gluten. My husband is diabetic and he is so addicted to gluten. We should do a group book study on this book. Lori Mom to Isaac 13 and Tony 11 Re: Re: How Picky Is Too Picky? Guest guest
Lori and Irma.... OK I deleted something too quickly...what author and book are you referring to here? (sorry) Lori cod liver oil is back in vogue more than ever...there is not one diet list. autism list or diet friendly DS list I am on where folks are not using CLO. There have been vast improvements in masking the taste....orange flavored, lemon flavored, and all sorts of fish oils in addition to just cod (which of course tests allergic to. COD???come on...where did she develop an allergy to codfish? lol.) You won 't believe how much discussion there is about the brand, source, flavor etc. of fish oils. So far has reacted to several that we've tried. Kind of put it off for awhile. But I did have a chance to taste some of the new ones and they're not bad at all. If you do use it you may have to adjust any other vit A supplementation accordingly. Sherry

Guest guest
Irma, This is wonderful news. I am so glad to hear that is doing great. Just goes to show you we need to be thankful for doctors that think outside of the box. The road to recovery and hope can seem like a long and winding road but it is well worth it. Have you seen the recovery video of the Redskins Cheerleader. Dr. Buttar is helping her recover. Her other Dr.'s told her she would never get better. Lots of hope they gave her.
