Guest guest
<<No Mike, no bab, no mom>> Hi, Everyone....Kris....that is great!!! How old is he??? That is what Gareth would say " Me, home alone. " Remember those movies......Home Alone, 1, 2 ,3 and 4.....I think!!! Now, I get " Me, in charge. " The best thing we ever did was get him his own cell phone (age 16) and that made me feel a whole lot better leaving him home alone. It's programmed where all he has to do is hit 2 and it goes to mine. Half the time, he never uses it, though. I can leave him for an hour or so, and then, he wants me back. Also.........I love Clapton!!! 'On Eagle's Wings' was our wedding song.....also dating myself!!! <<we managed to get him to sit on the chair & then forcefully lay him down on the board & strap him in. There is nothing worse than hearing your child scream like that throughout the whole exam.>> Becky....Dylan is 14 and they have to strap him in? I'm sorry, but that seems so wrong. There are dentists out there who believe in working with special needs kids to build up their confidence and trust. I don't know if you will ever get that out of Dylan if he's always been strapped in. There are also dentist that will put a kid out once a year to do all cleaning, etc. We found a wonderful dentist, when Gareth was younger, who would allow the kids to come into his office at the end of the day and slowly gain their trust with the surroundings, chairs, instruments, etc. I think it took Gareth over 6 months before he could even do anything but now Gareth is fine with dental exams. <<I thought only the traditional docs poo-poo'd it. Hmmm...>> ..Heidi....Gareth has had this blood work done many times in the past by 'traditional' doctors.....his ped., his gastro, and his rheumie. Take care, Everyone.
