Guest guest
Wow Jayne. What's left? Sheesh. HUGS Donna SOY vay! Hi everyone- I have been having a heck of a time with my health lately and finely made it to the allergist. They did massive skin testing and I found out that I am allergic to soy and peanuts! My daughter has an anaphalactic allergy to peanuts which we've known for 12 years. I had allergies as a child, food and environmental, but didn't really know what... that was so long ago... Anyway - SOY IS EVERYWHERE! UGH! I'm ordering my plastic bubble tomorrow and moving in. So now we are a GF, Soy-free, peanut-free, dust-mite free, grass-free, tree-free, weed-free fun-lovin' family! Guest guest
Yes, Jayne. Part of the reason behind this culprit are because some of these food items are GMO & grown in the grounds (mold) which is one of the facts found. Certainly correct, these ingredients are found everywhere. Do not be surprised if the corn also is added to your list that causes such food re-actives. Corn & soy are among the top three largest genetically modified crops in US, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of all biotechnology crops planted globally. Corn (and sugar) feed bacteria & yeast in our digestive system. They also suppress the immune system. Many health practitioners & nutritionist recommend that all people should avoid or reduce both corn & sugar. Corn is a starch & is high on the glycemic index. High-fructose corn syrup is not good for anyone except food manufacturers that are trying to increase their profits. There is more to this but thought I share this & this is similar to the peanuts. Soy considerations. The US has witnessed huge growth in soybean industries due in part to the response to growing food intolerances to dairy & the needs of vegetarians & vegans. Reports of soy being a miracle food & curing everything from heart disease to cancer certainly helped promote soy usage but may be overstated at best. There is more to consider in the soy story. Soy is one of the top IgE allergies & IgG intolerances and its protein is believed to cause an opiod effect. Raw soybeans are the most allergenic while traditional Asian fermented products (miso, tempeh, natto, shoyu & tamari) are the least allergenic. Soy consumption may be responsible for many digestive problems because it blocks essential enzymes from properly digesting foods. According to Sally Fallon & Enig, PhD, " the soybean contains large quantities of natural toxins or 'anti-nutrients.' (including) potent enzyme inhibitors that block the action of tryspin, & other enzymes needed for protein digestion. They can produce serious distress, reduced protein digestion & chronic deficiencies in amino acid uptake. " If interested, try to find this book called " The Whole Soy Story " by Dr. Kaayla . I am right along with you on this journey. Here is to our mission. Irma,21,DS/ASD > > > Hi everyone- > I have been having a heck of a time with my health lately and finely made > it to the allergist. Guest guest
Thanks Irma. Yes, soy is not really all that most think it's cracked up to be. I'm just amazed at how much it is in! And not labeled too. Everytime you see " natural flavors " that's soy! Which explains the tightness I feel in my chest and the need to cough everytime I drink my flavored seltzer waters - they have natural flavors! Looks like I'm back to good old fashioned home cooking - gone really are the days of grabbing ANYTHING outside of the house. For me - it's amazing to see how much non-food items it is in as well. I have such skin issues and there I was unknowingly putting it all over my body! And then my vitamin is high in soy!!!! So many of my supplements contained soy. Of course anytime something has Vitamin E or Tocopherols...SOY! UGH! It's really everywhere! I'm excited to see how my health changes as I go on omitting soy and peanuts from my diet and life. Thanks for the information Irma. That book came up a lot in my searches - I'm off to the library tomorrow! Guest guest
Oh Sherry, I think I'm already there! Do you think I should get the x-large bubble or the large bubble to live in? Guest guest
Hope you find the book or hopefully the library could order it. This is from my notes on the peanuts. * " The major concern is that aflatoxin is a by product of mold and is frequently present in peanuts even if they are grown organically. Non organic peanuts are also one of the crops with the highest amount of pesticides. I believe that for most of us there are better protein sources from which to choose. However, if you elect to eat peanuts, please only use the organic types.* Both *peanuts* and corn are often contaminated with mold. *....* infectious microorganisms and yeast helps other *bad* microorganisms to grow. *... " * It is sad when one has to go through such route but this is what some of our political arena has done, all is FDA approved, all about money & those who invest & sponsor into today's society. I am among several women in a meetup group who are Grave disease, cancer survivors, & I am aware of one lady who mentioned Lupus but forgot what her status is but are all part of the Raw Food diet but of course they are consulted by a Health Coach who I have had the pleasure meeting as well and may also hire to consult me due to my Metabolic disorder issues. Well, receive my results probably next week. Well, also undergo some dental work as well, due to the metals which have leaked out & triggered off some of my latest health issues & this is coming from some of the conventional doc's I am seen with lately. These doc's have not worked with patients with autism or related disorders but such being in a similar arena when learning such information. They have also switched their diets to gluten-free, dairy-free, no sugar, etc. I look forward reading any of your updates alright & will keep you in my prayers as you enter this mission with your current findings & best to your health. Guest guest
Jayne, if up to more reading on soy. Can download a free report. http://www.mercola.com/Downloads/ads/dangers-of-soy/default.aspx *HOW TO GET THE BENEFITS OF SOY ...WITHOUT ALL THE HEALTH RISKS<http://www.mercola.com/Downloads/ads/dangers-of-soy/default.aspx> * *SOY—THE LURKING* *DANGER IN AMERICA'S * *FAVORITE HEALTH FOOD Oh, adding a - * DAILYTIP: Only use hand sanitizers that are plant based from the health food store. Or, just use good old soap (but not anti-bacterial soap) and water. Why? Because it contain a highly toxic ingredient called Triclosan (used in antibacterial soap). Triclosan is a pesticide. We've already heard of the alcohol based hand sanitizers. Where several kids lick their hands & ended up begin taken to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.
