Guest guest
I survived my spinal tap, and found out yesterday I get to go through another one. YIPPEE! Just what I want to hear. My CSF was extremely high, and my protein count was low, so my doctor now suspects pseudotumor cerebri, though that does not explain the hearing loss, weakness, tremors, speech, etc. She also found some abnormalities on my EEG, and has started me on anticonvulsants, which SUCK. Horrible headache, " buzzing " feeling in my head and hands, and just genrally icky. This can last for 3-6 weeks, and I'm only on the juvenile dose! I'd rather have the seizures, thanks. I guess I need to call her Tuesday and get off this junk. I'm also on diomox to lower the pressure in my skull and spine, and need to have another LP next week, as well as more tests to try to find clots near my jugular, which she thinks may be preventing the CSF from draining. Finding information on PTC is difficult, since I guess it is very rare. Figures. Wish me luck and pass the cold towel...my head feels like it is going to explode! YUCK.
