What age did your child start communicating?

Since there are so many parents with older children on here, I was wondering if

you could tell me at what age your child started to talk or use communication

devices independently? Or how many of you with older children don't have a good

communication system at all?

Quinn is five and pretty much has nothing. He will occasionally choose a PEC

from two options for highly motivating things like horseback riding or food. I

would love to hear about any kids who were really really late bloomers in their

communication!
