Hi :

I am so sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I

hope that your doctor can find you a medication to

help with the joint pain - are you on Prednisone? I

hate the way it makes me feel, but it does wonders on

the inflammation and pain in the joints. Also, have

you considered any anti-depressants or sleep

medication - I take both and it does help to just be

able to cope and get some sleep. Is there anyway you

can get to the rheumy sooner? Let them know that if

any appointment is cancelled to call you -

I, too, have bad days that I just can't cope - days

that you do just cry. But it's so much better that it

was becauseo of the meds I am on. Once you get on the

right medications, I am praying that you will have

good response and the pain will lessen. Sometimes it

takes a while to find the right med or combo of meds,

but I hope your rheumy is aggressive in treatment and

will keep trying until you get the help you need.

Prayers and hugs coming your way - you can cry on our

shoulders anytime you want - that's what we are here

for - we've done it too.

Thanks so much for that Kathe. I was feeling so bad this morning, and I just

wanted to talk. Sometimes it helps so much to have someone else to talk with

Believe it or not one of the other groups I am member of told me I was on a

pity pot, and lots of people have more pain and deal with it without crying

about it. Sometimes you just need to get some things off your chest to feel

better.

I love this group! If your having a good day, you can talk about it, and if

your having a bad day, you can talk about that too without being criticized

or belittled.

As for the rheumy...this is the earliest I could get in. I am taking no meds

as of yet for the RA until the rheumy see's me.

Thank you for the prayers and hugs. The same goes your way too, and to all

the members in this group.

Hi ,

Sorry your feeling so bad and depressed. It isn't easy, but hang in

there. I sure wish you could have got in to a rheumy sooner, but I

know how that can be. My first visit, I had to wait three months.

Depression goes along with a chronic disease. I am back on something

for my depression, its working, and it makes me feel so much better

mentally anyway. I wish your doctor could give you something, until

you get in to see your rheumy. I will keep you in my prayers, and

remember, I'm just an email away, if you ever need that shoulder.

Dear ,

I have large, towel-covered shoulders, so feel free any time!

Sweet person, I know you are hurting now, but it won't always be this

way. You are going to see a rheumy, which is good, and a pain doc in a

couple of days. I'm sure they will get you on the road to feeling more

like your old self (Young self?) soon!

Meanwhile, try to rest and not do too much and I'll keep you in my

prayers, as I do everyone on this list,

Judi in Indiana

you can get in touch with the DR. that dignoised you and tell him you

have to have some relief I know thats what I had to do It was 3 months before I

could get in and I was was in so much pain one morning I woke up and my face

was so swallon I could hardly see out of my eyes I could not walk every joint

in my body was swallon as screeming in pain I called my primary Dr. he pres.

a 6 day graduated dose of prestone plus I told him I need something for the

pain .He pres. a pain medication but as soon as I got the prestone I took 6

pills the first day the next morning I felt 100% better so call him he can help

my Dr. did the same thing his reason was he did not want to start me on

something in case the Rheumy.wanted me on diffrent program. your diet has

a lot

to do with controlling RA. as well I was dignoised In Jan. this year I went

to bed one night just fine and the next morning I could not walk and the next

every joint in my body was swallon each day it seemed to be worse the dr.

thought it was a virous had to run its course 6 weeks. I ask him if it could be

RA. he said no I was to old (64) said you do not get RA. after 50 well after 6

weeks of living in hell he decided it was my grandchildren there was something

that had a lot of the same symptom so he did blood work it came back negative

I ask him to pamper me RA since he had not found anything we are talking 14

weeks later.well he did and it was. I finally got in to see the Rheumy and was

not impressed with him at all started reserching RA. well I ended up going to

a supervised center in calif. to do a water fast and learn how to eat and what

to eat to keep this in control it worked IM off all medication and have been

for 3 months. I know a lot of people think this is crazy including my Dr. he

told me that food had nothing to do with this I could eat what ever I wanted

but he was wrong. when I left the center my RA reeding was 25 that put me in the

normal range. I still have some stiffness in my fingers and my left wrist if

you are interested in the way of eating I will be glad to share that with you

Thank you for that. I see my pain specialist tomorrow and he is the only

doctor who can prescribe pain meds for me. This is an agreement everyone has

to agree to to be seen by him. I have some prednisone at home that was left

over from one of my back spells. I wonder if its still ok to take it? It was

the same with me. I went to bed one night and the next day my hands and feet

were swollen and sore. Every morning the stiffness and pain is worse. I

dread to see daylight most days.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will talk this over with my pain specialist,

and maybe he can do something for me. Its funny, I take opiates for my back

pain, but it does nothing for the joint pain, so I am looking forward to the

right med to get me painfree.

joint

in my body was swallon as screeming in pain I called my primary Dr. he pres.

a 6 day graduated dose of prestone plus I told him I need something for the

pain .He pres. a pain medication but as soon as I got the prestone I took 6

pills the first day the next morning I felt 100% better so call him he can

help

my Dr. did the same thing his reason was he did not want to start me on

something in case the Rheumy.wanted me on diffrent program. your diet

has a lot

to do with controlling RA. as well I was dignoised In Jan. this year I went

to bed one night just fine and the next morning I could not walk and the

next

every joint in my body was swallon each day it seemed to be worse the dr.

thought it was a virous had to run its course 6 weeks. I ask him if it

could be

RA. he said no I was to old (64) said you do not get RA. after 50 well after

6

weeks of living in hell he decided it was my grandchildren there was

something

that had a lot of the same symptom so he did blood work it came back

negative

I ask him to pamper me RA since he had not found anything we are talking 14

weeks later.well he did and it was. I finally got in to see the Rheumy and

was

not impressed with him at all started reserching RA. well I ended up going

to

a supervised center in calif. to do a water fast and learn how to eat and

what

to eat to keep this in control it worked IM off all medication and have been

for 3 months. I know a lot of people think this is crazy including my Dr. he

told me that food had nothing to do with this I could eat what ever I wanted

but he was wrong. when I left the center my RA reeding was 25 that put me in

the

normal range. I still have some stiffness in my fingers and my left wrist

if

you are interested in the way of eating I will be glad to share that with

you

just email me direct mamajudies@...

I hop you're feeling better today. Did you ask the doctor's office

to put you on a cancellation list so that maybe you could get in sooner?

Hang in there. If you respond well to RA meds, it makes a big

difference. Please let your doctor know how depressed you are.

Maybe he would want you to consider antidepressants. Many here have

had great luck with them.

Hi a. I sure did and believe it or not, there is a cancellation tomorrow

afternoon!! Some one is looking after me. I also saw my pain specialist

today and he changed my meds around and I am feeling so much better at the

moment. This man is wonderful. I was hurting so bad in his office today, I

was in tears. He told me " My phylosophy is no matter what it takes, I will

make you pain free " Someone was looking after me then too when I was

searching for a pain specialist. I just hope my rheumy is good. He is the

only one in the little town I live in, and he has an office in another town

about 45 minutes away. I have to go to the long distance one tomorrow. I am

not feeling so depressed right now. I think the pain just got to me and

depression set in. I have gotten such wonderful advice and comradery in this

group and I am so thankful I am a part of it.

Hugs to all of you
