Guest guest
Hi Beth, Will you have a doctor who understands the biomedical approach? You've might of answer this already so sorry if this is a repeated question. Many begin with the GF/CF diet who I am aware of or then will tweak it upon other types of diet. It is actually revolving on what a parent is ready to tackle though. Any type of diet must be consistent followed well like if you see great results when removing all Gluten from your child's diet & then given some type of gluten, it can stay in the system for about to 6 months. What you've mentioned on the dietary supplements just make sure that they also do not contain any Gluten, dairy, soy or corn, etc. plus also add like replenishing the nutrients example when removing dairy, calcium intake or magnesium, etc. May I ask why the question on the anti-viral med of Valtrex or about the anti-fungal agent interest? My son was on the Valtrex for 2 months & now undergoing 2 other anti-viral meds currently due to his lab results. He was also on Diflucan for Candida Albican where I also implement an Activated Charcoal, at least 2 hours after a dose of an anti-fungal agent, & it appears to reduce the negative die-off effects. On the Valtrex, one must make sure to request that no artificial dye as it comes in blue. Sometimes when I get this prescription & no luck it being compounded, I just wet a paper towel to remove the blue color dye. It seems like though there is a shortage on one of the anti-virals that some of us families are finding out lately as we follow the protocol from Dr. out at Neurosensory center when it comes to the nitty gritty viral issues which such findings based on our individuals lab results are being treated for. Once all other basic medical condition is ruled out, the other testing needed is to rule out on the Vit. D level, the titers which includes on the viral issues & the Candida IgA. Acyclovir is one of the anti-viral meds that my son & many other families following this protocols seems like may have to lean towards taking the Valtrex again. Acyclovie/Vlatrex/Famvir: Anti-viral used to reduce DNA viral inflammation. Diflucan: Anti-fungal used to reduce yeast activity in the bowel and/or blood. In regards if they do good or worse, it all depends on the individual as in our experience all good which is my opinion. Your child is young where I hope it is focusing on eliminating any underlying culprit which could trigger symptoms that causes such any complex issues. Guest guest
Irma, Thank you for you reply. Of course, I have more questions. I read and watched videos of Stan Kurtz's child, Ethan. That was the link to the other yahoo group that someone posted. Ethan reminded so much of my son Evan, the way he walked especially, so it perked my interest into the Valtrex/Nizoral treatment that he was using on Ethan with great results, healed. My son's birth mother was active herpes at time of birth. Furthermore, he was treated with acyclovir at birth for herpes, but the doctor disconitued it, then Evan had several blisters start around his stump. He was tested in 4 locations but all came back negative to herpes, but he was started back on acyclovir for 10 days. That makes be think there could be a connection. He has a yeast infection or some sort of rash in groin, under pits and behind knees, that I can never get to clear. So, you follow Dr. , I googled, and see he is in TX, way too far for us to travel. Do you feel your son is " healed " from autism? I have a neuro doctor that we started to see. I am trying to get into a local DAN doctor here to get us going the proper way on this journey. What all bloodwork did you have on your child? BEth > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > I am new to this group. Guest guest
Sorry Beth, I read this post then ended replying to several other listserves with similar questions that we are all along this journey which keeps us on track. Oh, so Evan has been tested then treated, almost sounds like some die-off reactions. Did you say you also gave probiotics? Apologize if I have you repeat if you've mentioned this. Most of this type of reaction clears with an anti-fungul ointment which could be purchased over the counter. Which state are you at? Yes, bummer when certain doc's who address such medical condition which you've mention are far but maybe some of us will know one near you. Does not really have to a DAN! (Defeat Autism Now!) physician could be one that has been learning along this mission within the alternative biomedical route. I am in San , TX & travel out to Austin which is not far for me but have had the opportunity to travel when needed. Several of the test that Dr. who works with Dr. requested for TSH, Free T4 (Thyroxine), Homocysteine, Candida Albicans, IGA, IGG, IGM,Basic Lymphocyte subset analysis, Vit. D, 25 Oh, Immunoglobulin D (IGD), Epstein-Barr Virus Panel. I really have liked the fact that have run across some of my son's team of doc's in his arena these years who are aware of the Down syndrome characteristics which is a huge plus in my book. My son is not healed of autism but has recovered from the periodic fever episodes he once underwent & of course still undergoing such treatments due to some set backs along this journey we have been going through & still always figuring out such missing piece of the puzzle. When you have a chance, here are some reading. Several families whose individuals did not benefit from Valtrex, then were seen by Dr. Volpe with a more natural approach, he is in Texas as well. http://www.doctorvolpe.com/autism.html Irma,21,DS/ASD, TX > > > Irma, > > Thank you for you reply. Guest guest
I am later responding to you: I am in the Indy area. I fould a doctor, a DO, not DAN but he has recovered his child so I will give him a whirl. We also have a neurologist and neuropeds type doctor. Evan has some sort of seizure type thing going on as well. Thanks for letting me know all the tests you had done, I will take those with me. We are going back to square one, Evan is having a reaction to the RX of carnitine, probably the flavoring. Beth > > > > > > > Irma, > > > > Thank you for you reply.
