Disclaimer not an expert or professional here, just going w/the flow based on

our experience & within staying in tune with the biomedical approach.

In regards to the Canola Oil, even despite what is read depends on the

individuals as in our case due to the lab results & the actual results shown as

symptoms one will undergo. Everyone is different & our choice has been limiting

where needed when using the Canola Oil but due to the GMO, do not do add this

too much to our dietary plan & most of my friends as well within the dietary

arena who I know, especially those within who follows the biomedical approach.

It is one of those choices one makes. It is taking precaution measures.

In regards to the Soy: Most of us once again within the biomedical approach will

not do soy. Again, it is based on our experience & ongoing lab results.

Re-posting this information.

Re:

No go on soy here. I do limit it when I do use something, but I try to

avoid it when possible but it seems to be in every food items.

Soy is one of the top IgE allergies and IgG intolerances and its

protein is believed to cause an opioid effect. Raw soybeans are the

most allergenic while traditional Asian fermented products

(miso, tempeh, natto, shoyu and tamari) are the least allergenic.

Soy consumption may be responsible for many digestive problems because

it blocks essential enzymes from properly digesting food. According to

Sally Fallon and Enig, PhD, " the soybean contains large

quantities of natural toxins or 'anti-nutrients', (including)potent

enzyme inhibitors that block the action of tryspin and other enzymes

needed for protein digestion. They can produce serious distress,

reduced protein digestion and chronic deficiencies in amino acid uptake. "

Soy is one the largest genetically modified crops in United States and

as such is banned from being imported to many other countries.

For those who can tolerate ingesting soy products, it is best reduce

quantities and limit use to fermented and organic gluten-free sources

like Miso and Tempeh.

From more information on ingesting soy, please read " The Whole Soy

Story " by Dr. Kaayla .

http://www.wholesoystory.com/

This is of course just what I have learn at the Conferences and

thensome on this journey.

A lot of people are finding that soy can do almost as much harm as

milk, just be cautious and monitor.

About 50% of the kiddos allergic to casein are also allergic to soy.

Typical signs of allergies are red ears, red cheeks, eczema, and

congestion. is severely allergic to soy as well as casein.

Dietary FAQ:

Why should I put my child on Soy milk when it is so highly allergenic

itself?

http://www.autismndi.com/faq/display.asp?content=FAQ & shownews=20040922164297

As a matter of fact, soy is not the milk substitute of choice for

most. People with autism tend to be highly allergic, and soy is often

near the top of the list. However, if your child does not test

positive on allergy tests (IgG and IgE), and seems to tolerate soy

well when it is removed and re-introduced to the diet, then gf/cf soy

products are a high-protein, tasty substitute for dairy products.

We stopped using Tofu after my husband's pituitary tumors because it

interfered with natural production of hormones. Now I am wondering about

the endamame beans - thoguht we could use it to increase protein in Elie's

bread, but I forgot about the opiod effect. Think I will just trash

those!!!.

Sara, I hope I am helping and you may know this already since you are a nurse

but, what about detoxing to get rid of the headache and affects of msg? Epsom

salt baths, saunas (excreting),drink lots of water and what about digestive

enzymes to break down the msg and get it out of your system faster? I do not

want you to feel bad. Cyndi b

It does become like an addiction. There was a research done at one of the

Universities, this is a dad that shared it my way as his son w/AU suffers

big times from severe seizures where supposedly McD's or any other fast food

restaurants have mentioned that by the time the kids reach around 4 y/o & up

they will need to be under certain meds as they are aware of certain

ingredients in the food industry. Guess who sponsors them? Pharmaceutical.

My goodness you know the guilt here for living at McD's.

Yes, back into cooking the old fashion way. I still have not let go of the

microwave but there are some stories here as well & thensome. Taking it one

day at a time, not going there yet. But, have finally transition to certain

purchase of pots & pans, etc..

I even have my Tupperware (plastic) which is another story of such toxic but

eh, just writing this is a headache of such thoughts.

So, dealing with learning about the food or fluids is good enough for me

right now. Even certain meds I have to also inquiring of the ingredients.

At least I see how much has benefit from & me now entering this arena

for myself due to my such lab results.

I love Chinese food, but now have to ask if there is MSG as well.

WATER - drank a quart since lunch. Thanks Cyndi. Effects of MSG on me is

dehydration which causes the dry mouth and then h/a. Now rehydrated - I am

fine. But thanks for the thought. Doesn't need drastic treatment. USually

I tell them no MSG, but I was concentrating on food shopping after eating

and thinking about my grocery list. My fault totally.

Sara, I am so glad you are feeling better. I love oriental,Chinese, well I think

I like pretty much all food. I have to be careful of nitrates, msg, gluten,

dairy, etc. Nitrates & msg cause me to get migraine headaches. Dairy, gluten

keeps me in the bathroom. I know that was more info than you needed sorry. Just

you are right they do dehydrate a person so much salt. Glad you feel better.
