Hi ,

I was just logging off when your email came thru. First of all you are NOT a bad

mother. If you are then the rest of us are worse. I often have to prioritize

issues with ...it's just impossible to do it all and still do holidays and

all the other stuff our kids need. I too have a list of things waiting to do

after I hear from her doctor re: scopes.

First I've gotta say Logan's symptoms remind me alot of 's right now. I'm

sort of letting it go till I get more info....but she started going anemic

before she regressed again. I immediately think of thyroid issues with symptoms

like these too. I would definitely ask that the physical issues be checked out

thoroughly and blood tests done TSH, T4, T3 etc., iron, B12, vit D (have to

ask for this usually...dhydroxy25), RBC, WBC etc.

IF he's anemic or hypothyroid it would explain alot and ease your mind. It takes

a while for some of these issues to show up in the bloodwork. I'm sorry I sound

like I'm talking to you like you're a new mom....don't mean to. You probably

have already done this? maybe? Anyway that would absolutely be the first step

for me. Trying other techniques while any of these levels are off is a waste of

time IMO.

Good luck

Hi, guys.

I don't post often, but read almost everything as I feel you all are a

wealth of information. I am taking Logan to see his developmental

pediatrician tomorrow for a host of things that have been going on since

around Thanksgiving. Due to the holidays and some (since resolved) ear

issues, I chose to back burner these items to see what would happen when

everything settled down. Unfortunately, all is still not right with the

world. Logan's teacher jokingly says that Logan is in " Woodstock " -

Below are a list of issues compiled by me and Logan's teacher. Let me know

if anyone has any " light bulb " moments. I am at a total loss.

- Less responsive

- More difficult to engage

- Sluggish

- Regression of certain skills

Toileting, writing, cutting

- More in his own world

- Disconnected with classmates - just in the " same room "

- Beginning to talk back to assistants when told to complete

work " no " or " all done "

- Has stopped saying " potty/toilet " at school for bm's and

will just have a bm wherever he happens to be

I just saw a picture sent home from school with Logan's whole class excited

on a field trip and Logan sitting cross legged on the floor with his head in

his hands - could he be depressed?

I really would appreciate any input. My dh is out of town and now feel like

a horrible mother.

Thanks.

Sherry,

Yes, I did think of thyroid, but not anemia. I will have to check and see

when Logan's last T4 was done. I think it was in the fall.

I'm not sure whether you're far enough north for SAD (seasonal affective

disorder) to be an issue, but it came to mind.

What is his TURNER level - This is the age when my son began his changae

from angel boy to most dofficult child. Behavior declined, toileting was

awful, aggression increased.

No one even suggested in those days that it was hormonal surge. no one

suggested checking testosterone levels. And I didn't have a good person to

do a Functional Assessment of Behavior.

I would check these areas quickly before this becomes engrained - we had

YEARS of awfulness beginning at about 11.

Elie is now 24yo and much more like the boy we had at 8. So much more

willing to be part of peoples' lives and more functional.

What is level? is now 12 1/2 definitely into puberty and though I

don't see any aggression or noticeable behavior changes I am noticing more

hyperactivity late at night. Do you think that could have anything to do with

hormonal changes? I know mine are driving me nuts!

Oh, count me in with the perimenopause. No one's called it that yet, but I'm

suddenly getting weird cycles, menstrual migraines, and sleep is all wacky.

Acupuncture is helping. I finally tried it for the migraines but it seems like

it's helping other stuff, too.

I'm pretty sure I've been in perimenopause for a few years. I keep going

thanks to Trader Joe's Vitamins for women (they have extra B vitamins) and

my PM PhytoGen Complex. It has the same benefits as tofu but without the

health risks of soy. I used to have to eat tofu daily or I was cranky!

My first thought was it seems as though Logan is in a slump. Do you think his

school program is no longer stimulating. I would rule ou the med issues first.

I really would appreciate any input. My dh is out of town and now feel like
