Guest guest
Hey , here's my official 20/20 report I posted a couple of days ago about the endo/colonoscopy: Thank you so much everyone for all your support. (PS ...believe me I well know the poisonous contents of Miralax...I hate having to use it...even the other preps have the poly glycol in it). Poor was just getting started when we put her to bed at midnite....needless to say noone got any sleep as she kep pooping wooooops and I guess she's still not done...another blowout. I made Jim take her without me because well, I'm not doing so well....and he's planning to leave for a week on Thursday to go to the Bahamas and we want to be sure I'm rested enough for that. was furious this AM when we got her up at 5...she'd just gone back to sleep after another poop session. And she fought me hard while I put long pants and long sleeve shirt on her...it was 30 degrees out down here. She freaked because she wanted to get videos for the car ride and Jim had already taken them down to the car...plus it was pitch black out and she was really upset. This was a grievous omission from her experience book. Live and learn. Apparently the book was an absolute success. We couldn't believe it...he showed her the pic of getting in the hospital bed out of her stroller and she just got up and got into the bed!!! A first for sure. She usually has to be carried forcibly. Then he showed her the picture of the hospital gown and she willingly submitted to undressing and putting the thing on. This is another first...believe me. We always had to keep her in Tshirts. And then!!!!.....he showed her the page of the needle stick for the IV and she let them stick her....no emla, no problem. And the really hard part...he showed her the pic of the bandage wrapped around the IV and she let them do it and kept it on. Believe me I am loving this. I am feeling like a success which is not a common feeling. So enough about me (thank you, thank you)...Apparently has some unusual findings in her stomach (You knew she would right Margaret??). INstead of the normal gastric rugae (I just learned this) or gastric " folds " that are in everyone's stomach hers is smooth. A sign of alot of diseases is enlarged or gigantic folds and I can find this all over the internet....but smooth stomach??? oh nooooooooo....that would be a tricky one. He said he hasn't seen it very often and it could be related to pernicious anemia (B12 deficiency) which she has but it would account for the malabsorbtion as she doesn't have as much actual stomach area to process the food. Simplistic....but he'll know more when the biopsies come back in a couple of days. Also she has mild gastritis....but otherwise, just like last time her innards look good...no lesions or ulcers or any of that stuff. So...we wait. Here is my very favorite part...in her book I made sure to put in all the steps to going home, the stroller, the car, the apartment building, and finally a picture of her in her happy place in her room and mommy and daddy... " Home " " All Done " .......when she came thru the door, still a little wobbly I opened my arms and she fell into them, hanging onto me for several minutes....more than she has in her entire life altogether. She was patting me on the back and hugging. OK....now I can die and go to heaven. sigh. I wish parents of affectionate kids could realize how unbelievable this feels. OK now she's telling me " bye " ...back to normal lol. Later Sherry
