(21) has a diagnosis of PTSD. He came to us at age 8 after a very chaotic

life and had open heart surgery a month later. I really think it fits him more

than the autism diagnosis, although I think apraxia and sensory issues are big.

It is really clear when he is feeling unsafe in his life. He will do really well

for most staff in his supported living arrangement but then someone will be

hired that flips out. Fortunately they have agreed that if doesn't

take to a new staff they go to another program.

This has robbed of so many opportunities in life it just crushes me. He

feels so secure in his school program and he is doing all the things I have

dreamed for so long.

BTW, we tried finding a therapist to work with him and biofeedback with poor

follow through from the psychologist treating unfortunately I never found the

answer.
