Waiting area for applicants attending interview at the U.S. Consulate, Chennai

I am glad this has happened. Long over due and much progress has happened over the last 5 years for US VISA application.RegardsKarthik.

VFS Global Services, the service partners for the U.S. Embassy in India, now runs a convenient waiting area for U.S. visa applicants and their accompanying relatives and friends.

Located within close proximity of the U.S. Consulate in Chennai, applicants can now arrive directly to the Stars & Stripes lounge <

https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/ApplnForms/Lounge.aspx> and be taken to the U.S. Consulate at the time of the interview with the free bus facility the lounge provides.

A comfortable waiting area, snack counter, dress changing facility, baggage storage area, photo booth facility (as per the Consulate specifications) and free coach transfers between the lounge and the Consulate for your interview are the advantages of the Lounge.

Security regulations do not permit applicants or the accompanying persons to crowd around the Consulate and are also prohibited from carrying any items in the Consulate. Accompanying persons are not allowed entry inside the Consulate. Applicants and accompanying persons are recommended to use the lounge facility to avoid any inconvenience to themselves and the Consulate.

Entry charges for the lounge: Rs 200/- per coupon (applicants aged 5 years and above). Each coupon permits entry for one person and includes a free beverage and snack voucher. Coupon entitles holder free use of lockers and free coach transfers between the lounge and the U.S. Consulate
