Guest guest
Dear Rajmohan, You are correct that pressure vessels should be kept in the vertical position & tied properly.(such practice is observed within plant premises as well as in transportation). It is an observed practice to transport certain pressurised cylinders in horizontal position eg. (CNG) you may have observed the same at Gas stations. As per my knowledge if the cylinders are secured in a rack with the base end supported by a cross bar (of sufficient strength) and cylinder valve covered with cylinder cap. It should be safe to transport the cylinders horizontally. The following points may be noted: 1) Presence of a rack ensures that the cylinder is secured during transport. 2) The Cylinder cover / Neck ring ensures the integrity of the valve 3) The cross bar prevents the cylinder from falling off from the end. 4) Cylinders should be kept well ventilated during transportation. Given below are pictures of examples of horizontal transportation of cylinders. Pl. Correct me if I am wrong. Dear friends We are importing SF6 (Sulfer hexa flouride gas) for our process. During road transport all the cylinders were kept in the Horizondal position inside the truck. In my knowledge any pressure vessels should kept in the vertical position & tied properly. Kindly suggest the suitable measures. Regards Er. Guest guest
Dear Sir Sulphur Hexa Fluoride is the Inert Gas used for the ARC quenching in Circuit Breaker. It is highly potential for Global Warming. It is 13,000 times the carbon di oxide and methane. Highly developed countries dumping the same and blame sometimes later as per the instruction of Indian Meteorology Department in training program. The same case is happened for the halon. Thanks & Regards,Vetrivel K,Jr.Manager - SafetyEnnore Foundries Ltd, EnnoreDisclaimer clause"The information transmitted intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material belonging to Ennore Foundries.
