Dear Ketan,

The maximum allowable deflection in

mm = L/900,

Where L is the span in mm,

Step 1 - Suspend a plumb from the center

of the beam & take measurment to the floor reference at no load. say

X mm

Step 2- Lift the full load

& measure from the plumb to floor refgerence say Y mm.

Deflection = X-

Y mm.

This shall not exceed L/900 mm

thanks for the details. As per which standard this limits are derieved ? I guess the same requirement was given in Gujarat Factories Rules 1963.
