Guest guest
Hi, In our organisation we have decided to use foam ( high expansion ) to supress Ammonia vapour in case leakage happen from storage tank inside the dyke area.We have also thought about mixing acid with the foam compound so that liquid Ammonia ( alkaline in nature )can be nutralised at the same time. Pl forward your suggestion on the following issues- How far it may be practicable.- What acid can be used & at what concentration?- How to dispose off the the final product. - Mixing of acid can change the property of foam ? - Ammonia is cryogenic ( storage temp around - 33 degC) in nature, therefore is there any possibility that the upper surface of the spillage may be freezed along with foam. In such a case shall we have to use anti freezing agent? Too many R & D type questions, hope it is a very good brain storming session. Pl forward your views.ThanksRegardsta
