Guest guest Posted July 5, 2007 Report Share Posted July 5, 2007 Dear All, I have few plan in my mind to improve the productivity of the group. 1. what I think is that if the moderator allows that I can take charge of the group temporarily to monitor the mails and as soon as any hoax mail sent by any person we should delete the name from the database from yahoo site so that he can no longer able to send and receive any mail. 2. Before adding any new member we should instruct him for hoax mails. 3. Any person want to Join / Change ID / Delete Name / etc. should logon to yahoo site to join the group and should not disturb moderator and others for these purpose. Please comment on these ideas whether is it right way to control hoax mails and improve the group? Guest guest Posted July 7, 2007 Report Share Posted July 7, 2007 Dear Professionals, The objective of making this ISP group a HOAX FREE seems to be an excellent suggestion and I shall thanks Mr. Chirag Dedhia who has voluntarily come forwarded with an initiative. Before acting upon, a detailed contemplation is a must within the group. This group is having more than 5000+ professionals around the globe. More than 75% of the members have the facility of sending / receiving of external mails without internet. Today most of the mails are so longer are forwarded type only and out of curiosity in spreading awareness to the group, without knowing its genuiness its being forwarded. No member with his professional background / knowledge shall send hoax mail knowingly. It may also happen due to lack of knowledge in checking the truthfulness of the facts. We have also seen so many mails are repetitive. This is my perception. Also most of the members in the group doesn’t know how to unsubscribe /add / delete / change mail id from the group. Hence appropriate instructions must be appear as guidelines to aware the member. This itself reduce the unnecessary disturbance to the Moderator. One must aware the difficulties of getting added in to this ISP group. Warning messages, contribution by the member, group benefited by the member needs to be considered before arriving such a decision, by giving opportunities for correcting himself. Deleting the member name from the group data base could not be the perfect solution, it more or less appears to be a dictatorship action. Guideliness to be made strict and adhered to.
