Dear Puneet I think the topic,SIMOPS, is first time in the group.It seems not many are aware about SIMOPS procedure,didn't see any further postings on that. I think SIMOPS procedure is followed only in Oil & Gas field operations , please correct if am wrong. I know 2 kinds of SIMOPS , 1. SIMULTANEOUS DRILLING, PRODUCTION and LIGHT CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS This refer to any activity with a drilling or work-over rig conducted concurrently with production (or injection) of hydrocarbons and light construction activities and/or well servicing activities. 2. SIMULTANEOUS CONSTRUCTION and PRODUCTION OPERATIONS

This for conducting construction and heavy maintenance activities on, or in the vicinity of, production facilities. SIMOPS aims at decreasing the level of risk associated with operations by - imiting the number of simultaneous activities- Giving general preventive measures to be implemented prior to starting simultaneous activities- Setting rules about organization, procedures and equipment. Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) includes offshore moving of the heavy marine units needed in support of well operations or construction activities. Mr.Puneet ,can you share your SIMOPS matrix about prohibited,restricted & unrestricted operations. Hope to see more postings from Puneet and others on the

Attached herewith is the SIMOPS Matrix followed at our oil & gas offshore field.

It clearly defines simultaneous activities which can be normally conducted, which are generally allowed with certain precautions, which are allowed with approval to deviate & which are not allowed at all.
