I'm a 48 yr old male who began my anti-retroviral in March 06, after

having a nodule removed from the back of my right ear and being told

one week later by the dermatologist that the pathology report revealed

I had Kaposi's sarcoma.

Alarmed with the news, living in Atlanta, not having health insurance,

I went to AID Atlanta, met with the nurse practitioner who heads up

the clinic... was told I had AIDS and that they could not treat me...

and was referred to Grady I.D.P. (Infectious Disease Program)... which

later I discovered is one of the top ranked HIV clinics in the Nation.

I qualified to enter a research project. AIDS Clinical Trials

Group)(ACTG) A5202 Excellent results in 6 months... from viral load of

1 million to undetectable... and Tcells from 70 to 250.

However the bad news is since March 06 I have gained 18 lbs and it is

all in my abdominal area, all this without any changes to my diet

which was already high protein, low fat. Waist size went from 33 " to 38 " .

Found online some research that indicated testosterone could help

decrease fat gain. Recently I asked my doctor about testosterone he

looked at my chart and said previous testing showed my level was 316

and agreed to order another testosterone test... a few days later I

phoned in and those results were 299. So I persisted, wrote him a note

asking for a prescription for Androgel, found out the in-house clinic

did not stock it, and would have to pay out of pocket at a pharmacy,

estimated cost was $250 for month supply. Talked to my doctor told him

I couldn't afford it, he offered to prescribe 200 mg injections at the

clinic, once every two weeks, at no cost to me.

I've begun weight training, seeing good results with increase in fat

free mass. Still have the paunch... maybe it's too early to see

dramatic improvement there? Maybe I need more testosterone?

My brother who is also HIV+ and a R.N. told me he is self-medicating

with testosterone and nandrolone (purchased online at

pharmaeurope.com). He has gotten excellent results weekly dosing in

the past 10 weeks and has put on 20 lbs of muscle.

Read online that nandrolone was better than testosterone for

increasing lean body mass and decreasing fat.

Not to be outdone by my brother<g>, 3 weeks ago I ordered and received

10 ml nandrolone (250 mg/1 ml) $176. Began with 1 ml injection for the

first two weeks... did some more reading on research and saw one 12

week study where 600 mg was administered without any reported side

effects... so decided to double my dosage and am now doing 250 mg

twice per week (Sundays and Thursdays).

Not sure what to expect other than increased lean body mass and some

fat reduction. Will this significantly HELP get rid of the unsightly

paunch is my question? Should I ask my doctor to increase my

testosterone? If he is too conservative one option is for me to order

my own testosterone and boost my dosage on the week that I'm not

getting it at the clinic.

I'm planning on printing out research on nandrolone and asking him at

my office visit tomorrow for a prescription. The in-house clinic does

not stock it... he may not be accustomed to prescribing it. I'll try

to prevail upon him to prescribe it... mainly I need it on file to

protect me just in case customs/feds ever discover that I'm ordering

it in the mail... on this same line of thinking if he won't prescribe

it... I may seek out more progressive doctors who will write me a

prescription. I priced nandrolone at the pharmacy, it is stocked in 1

ml vials with the price at $38 at one place, $23 at another, price

break when purchasing 10 vials $183 at one place, $185 at the other.

The pharmacies carry a slightly less potent dosage (2oo mg/1 ml)

compared to what I've already purchased online (250 mg/1ml).

A side note... I got my syringes/needles online from a vetenarian

supply company (21 gauge, 3 ml, 1 " ) box of 100 for $10.95, also

purchased one gallon sharps container (for needle disposal) for $3.95.
