Guest guest
I'd like to introduce myself as a new member to the group. My name is Win. I have a younger sister, Cho who is down syndrome and also shows signs of Autism. She's 30, lives with my parents in Long Beach, California. My Mom is the one who stays home and have been taking care of Cho daily. I'm glad to find this group so that I can find useful information and also share with my family. Cho did not show any signs when she was young, when we all growing up together. She is my younger sister and the middle one. She was just normal down syndrome child. She shows affection, and had her own schedule like when we came back from school and did homework, she would do the same thing by opening her books, doing crayons or tracing her sister old school notes. She would take her bath without anyone telling her to do. Basically, she'd take care of herself on many things. When she's about 14, 15 we started seeing signs of regress. She started talking to herself. At first, we were not aware of what Autism was. All her development over the early years seems stop. Now she refuses eye contact. She does not like people including us hugging her or touching her. We have to tell her very hard to take shower and go to bathroom as such basic daily things. , brother of Cho
