Guest guest Posted March 15, 2006 Report Share Posted March 15, 2006 I don't think that the definition of AIDS has changed at all,<200 CD4 cells, and/or a selection of entrees from a menu including:PCP, KS, Cervical dysplasia, Atypical TB, etc.What has changed is the clinical relevance of the term, which, in terms of medicine, is basically without importance. The term "AIDS" carries forward only to allow epidemiological comparisons between 1986 and 2006, and for certain public funding mechanisms.Medically, "HIV disease" is more accurate.Nowadays those whom are HIV infected are living longer with the help of new medications, when does HIV+ become AIDS? This is a question . 1. Having no T-Cell consider having AIDS? 2. Resistant to new medications? 3. Or as stated below by ? No punt intended Barrowpozbod@...
