Guest guest
Hello all, sorry i havent posted or updated my blog in awhile :{ just been very busy with the usual life stuff. I have been skimming trhough posts as able, trying to stay caught up on whats going on. I would like to say hi to all the newbies!! I'm sorry to say to my quilt buddies i havnet had much time to work on my quilts, made some pillows, but our basement/sewer system keeps backing up and my sewing room is down there and the plumber cant figure out whats the deal and the city is being a pain in the ***. Ive been using my free time reading sevveral different series, and i have a couple favs new ones coming out this may, yaaa. Also knitting some as I can do that in the living room, lol. To my moms, nathan has been doing great, thankfully living in Iowa, only two suspected cases of swine flu in southern iowa so far,(were in north central) nothing definate, but we have been very busy at the hospital, im beat for a good day after working my 12 hours shifts, uugh. got 2nd place at basketball special olympics, made several baskets, wahooo, he had an awesome time as he loves basketball. Then a couple weeks ago in track and field special olympics, got 2nd in the sofball throw and 4th in 50meter dash, andofcoarse mcdonalds afterwards, lol to celebrate with his two cheeseburgers, lol. He loves going to special olympics, hes a jock at heart, lol. for days its nothing but " go cats " and complaining until i let him put in his special sports/school outfit/warmup that the athletes all wear to match. We also got all the paperwork done and our attourney fees paid for gaurdianship over nathan when he turns 18 this summer, we are already planning another birthday bbq, he and everyone had sooo much fun last year!! He also gets to work full time this summer at the workshop, he is happy about this, as he would rather go there than school, im not quite sure why, but i think its his co-workers, they all dote on him like you wouldnt beleive, even at bowling leagues they never stop asking me about him, and then at special olympics they all cheered for him, and not the other students but none of the other students do a vocational program like we have made up for nathan with the county and school, but now they see how well nathan is doing and having others question how to do it. So we are glad we went through all that red tape and it seems to make nathan very happy, which is most importnat--no tantrums or insisting he is " ick " as he does for school, lol. I will try to update my blog soon, with his pics etc, just be patient, lol. many hugs to all!! oh and I would love to thank the australian quilting buddy who sent nathan " lad " those tshirts, etc, he loves them!!!!! he is a huge fan of " kangaroo jack " movie and says " alia " frequently when proudly wearing the shirts and/or hats. Very generous of you! please privately send me your email and i will send you pics. shawna http://sewshawna.blogspot.com
