Guest guest
Hi all, I'm hoping to get some feedback as to what to do about keeping Lydia controlled in public. In the last year she has gained weight very quickly and i am not able to pick her up or restrain her the ways i use to. In 2003 she got a chair - like a giant stroller which MA paid for at that time. Now that i need a chair like this for Most all public outings - because of her behaviors i am being told by her therapists that they think she should be walking. Well that is not realistic. I think they don't realize what it is like, especially when Lydia is in attack mode or angry. Medical Assistance keeps trying to tell me to get an assesment done based on her psyical imparments. Which yes she has low tone, flat feet (wears SMO's) wide gait. But really this is all about behaviors (and my back!). I realize the funds for programs have had to tighten up. Maybe i am approaching this all wrong. She does walk, she just walks when are where she want to thats the problem.
