We are going to try it and hope that it helps our son. > Hi, May I ask why you would like to take this approach? Only reason is it because do you see him in pain? Does he display some inappropriate behavior issues? The list goes on but reason why I lean more on sharing this is that it would be great if your son went through some test to rule out if there are any other issues going with his gut or autoimmune system? Yes, many could benefit from the GF/CF diet but if he suffers from any food allergies/food intolerance then this could trigger off other food allergies when removing a food item and replacing it with something else, this is where a rotation diet is needed and some dietary supplements to replenish the nutrients removed. Books recommended that others have posted will explain this. If your child suffers from numerous diarrhea or ongoing constipation, I would make sure to have a GI doctor test him to rule out such as Celiac, IBS, ulcer colitis, etc, before applying the GFCF diet as results will not be too accurate or if there is a biomedical doctor in your area, it would be best to have him tested to rule out if any food allergies/food intolerance, etc. So that you could make sure your addressing some of the challenging issues going on which may also be like leaky gut, Candida, yeast overgrowth, etc. This is not to stray you away from the GFCF diet but just to rule out and understand when applying a special diet. Highly recommend this route so that you know that your work towards this avenue pays off. If your son is young, yes he may not be pumped with so much as when they are older as mine has, but if your child suffered from recurrent infections, chronic health issues and given such antibiotics then this could suppress the autoimmune or gut tract, which a biomedical doctor could assist depending on the lab, stool, urine, etc. results. If reading directly from the listserve, over to the links file, under the alternative biomedical intervention, there you will see numerous links to review. Just wanted to share this.
