Guest guest Posted January 10, 2009 Report Share Posted January 10, 2009 Went to see Elie yesterday. First time since Xmas when he came to dinner with his roommmates. He had his agenda all planned - go to store to buy a calendar, got to store to buy (PA PEOPLE LISTEN) WaWa chocolate milk and cookies, go to eat at IHop - sing happy borthday, tell Mom and Dad goodby. And he has lost 6.5 lbs since September with the great increase in activity with the guys - even eating out ALOT. (WE took up our medical scale since weight is an issue which needs watching.). Now he has 3 volunteer jobs - one for each day he has day support - 2 days he goes to 2 different nursing homes and does meet and greet and the thrid day he works at the community thrift shop folding shirts - and he likes doing it! He is now working 3-4 hours most days - so much better than the sheltered shop where he sat and watched. Now he is on his feet moving all the time. He was glad to see us - and as the Amish say - Glad to see the back of us. And I was soooo happy to be with my boy again. -- Sara - Life is a journey- we choose the path.
