<<I was dx'ed with Scleroderma 13 years ago. I have the

CREST or limited version>>

Hi, Everyone......Barb.....OMGosh......I had never heard of Sclero till

Gareth was dx'd with sine Scleroderma/UCTD 2 yrs ago!!! His started with the

esophageal dismotility, restrictive lung issues, loss of vocal cords, positive

blood work for sclero and major fatigue. They final started him on Plaquenil

after 9 months and he got better. It is such a rare disease and I think they

were totally caught off guard by Gareth having it......he didn't fit the

common profile of middle aged, woman. He's been doing fine except for this

major

bout of pneumonia. Now, his Rheumie e-mailed me and is saying that all his

blood work for sclero (done last week in the hospital) came back negative

(he's in remission) and that the pleural fluid wasn't caused by the sclero.

Now

I understand your ' ihavesd' and 'hrdskn' !!! Gareth has never had any skin

issues. He's got some Raynauld's now.....mild case .

E-mail me privately if you want to talk some time. Have you joined any

sclero support groups on line? There is one that I

joined....ScleroForums.....and, they were a true blessing when Gareth was first

dx'd because I had no clue

what he was feeling.....he didn't/couldn't talk.

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
