Guest guest Posted January 10, 2009 Report Share Posted January 10, 2009 Just so you are not frightened unnecessarily: SOME seizure meds (along with a plethora of other meds) CAN cause (but don't always) cause liver damage. That is why routine and regular blood work is necessary to see if that is happening. Then Other meds can be substituted. ''With the advice of your son's physician - now that you KNOW he is having seizures- can decide which is safest for him. Diastat si a form of VALIUM for emergency, long lasting seizuzres. I would really hate that to be the only option while he is at school UNLESS he has constant access to a nurse.
