Guest guest
About the Autism 1 Conference - I may try to go to this. I'm not too far away (in KC, MO). I was looking through my Flexible Spending Account information & found some stuff that may help some of you. Now you can get reimbursed for attending these conferences, but only for the conference fee, not the hotel or transportation costs. Also, for those of you doing the GFCF diet, you can use your FSA account for this too. I don't believe that suppplements are covered, but this may help with the expenses for this diet. This is for those people whose employer (or spouse's) have a FSA health care account. A FSA account is money that you deduct from your paycheck & is pre-tax. You turn in receipts & get reimbursed after the fact. It covers things like copays, out-of-pocket medical expenses, & over-the-counter drugs such as Advil, Miralax, cold medicine, even Airborne is now covered. If you have an FSA, you can also use it for day care, but only for when you are working. It does not matter how old your child is, you can get an exemption based on his/her disability. I had to fax them a note from my son's pediatrician. This is something that you set up when you sign up for your health insurance & other benefits before year-end, so if you haven't set it up for 2009, you need to look at doing this for 2010. , mom to 16 DS, PDD-NOS
