This FDA proposal to expand access to Experimental Drugs is a gift to humanity from the HIV+ community.

The first Expanded Access programs, along with Accellerated Approval programs, were introduced as a result of pressure from the HIV+ community and in particular the activists in the HIV community.

Now many people with life threatening conditions other than HIV will benefit from this more sensible balance between the risk of using a new experimental treatments vs. the risk of death from not being able to use new experimental treatments.
