Hi Dana,

I think we all understand your 'fear' of regression; especially with

the gains it sounds like he's made! Bravo! Meds are a querky

thing.... what works for one, doesn't work for another. BUT....that

actually makes sense with how each person's body chemistry is

different right? Risperdal didn't 'help' my son on either end (good

or bad). And to me... if its not effective; get em off!

I see my younger HFA,10 (no meds ever) do these 'gains' often....but

then he also has an occasional regression as well. I call

the 'gain' times, OPEN WINDOWS. It could be within the expressive

language area, fine motor, cognitive etc. But we see them 'pop'

every so often. During his time of 'gains'.... we always count our

blessings and just ride with them. Positive reinforcement of those

gains and just hope that we don't lose them. For your son, could

be the meds.... could also be a 'window' finally opened; and

something finally CLICKED :)

Am sitting here smiling thinking of these kiddos and how hard they

try...and how wonderful it is to 'see' them succeed!

Hello all!

I¹ve been reading all the information. I like that everything is documented

and that there is a link provided with each article. I¹m newly diagnosed and

my doctor is starting me on a combination of drugs next week.

Ritonovir

Norvir

Combivir (AZT and Lamiviudine)

Viread

My doc thinks this is the best plan because my CD4 is 14 and my viral load

is 125K? It¹s an aggressive medicine plan. Since this is very new to me, can

someone please give me an ³idea² of what I might expect? Or where I might go

to research more. And, on plans like this, is it possible that I really can

see major changes soon? Is that too much to hope for?

I¹ve been reading everything posted here (and some studies) about Norvir and

whether it really is effective as a ³booster² to other meds. I¹m also

concerned about the AZT. Lamiviudine and Viread are mostly because of having

Hep B.

Thank You,

Lowery

Joan I've had the SAME year you've had in terms of mood/anxiety/depression. My

doc wrote me a prescription for Cymblata which I have yet to fill, because some

part of me really believes that the majority of this is all stemming from

Marcela's situation. How can it not?? The lives we are leading now with our

little ones are very consuming and mentally draining. I'm going to give it more

time to see if I can handle it on my own (those meds tend to pretty drastic side

effects) but if the day comes where I feel I need it, hey, you gotta do what you

gotta do to be the best person you can be, right? I hope you figure things out,

and remember to take time for yourself and hanging out with friends (or doing

what you like to do)....it really helps(:

hesitate to take the meds you needed t get healthy. I don't see the harm in

trying them out. As parents we need to do what is best for our children and

taking care of ourselves is first and foremost. You have been through a lot this

past year and we all need a little help every now and then. My BFF suffers from

depression and has been on meds then off meds and tried the whole exercise thing

but eventually she went back on them...If you would like to contact her she

would be more then happy to help you out she is really knowledgeable on the

whole issue.

I am having for the past year. I have told him all about Hayden's situation and

surgeries, and casting etc, and all the feelings I have been having. Does anyone

else " rely " on medication to help get through this journey? My husband is

against it but I want to be " me " again especially for my family's sake. Thanks

for listening Hope it's not too personal

Thanks Dianna. I have yet to start the pills he gave me as well. I am nervous about it for some reason. I want to be myself again, although today I feel better, just tired b/c I am busy.

Joan

I'm on meds for depression. My DH isn't thrilled about it, but you know what? It isn't him that has to feel the way I do when I am not on the meds. So, imho, he has no say in the matter. This is about me and how I feel and the fact that I need to be able to function for my family and myself. This isn't about him.

Do what you have to do for you!Hugs,

Gail

Thanks for all your support and kind words ladies, I always know I will feel better posting to you all. I agree with both sides of this subject and that is why I am torn. But the emotions I have been having lately seem more extreme than usual, that is why I discussed it with my doctor. So I will think about it a few days and then decide. I appreciate all of you listening to me. I know life could be much worse, but sometimes it seems like it is one thing after another and I can't catch my breathe
