Guest guest Posted December 28, 2006 Report Share Posted December 28, 2006 When I started having trouble sleeping I was put on amytriptyline I take 12 1/2 milligrams a night and sleep very well. Mine were bad dreams due to the medications now I don't dream and do just fine. My partner Mike is also on the same medication. Its trade name is Elavil. I would not get sleep if I did not use it for sleeping at night. I have no side effects from it. I function fine during the day and take it 2 hours before I need to go to sleep.
