My first phone call to the spec ed dept was promising but I know those who answer those kind of calls are probably trained in what to say. My child is about 2/3 mainstream but needs the other 1/3 to keep up with reading and math (the other stuff like science and social studies...is he understands it, gravy!). Our current ISD has been successful in doing that but I attribute that to the teacher and principal; not the district. Why leave a good thing you ask????? We need more room and more outdoorsy stuff to do for all of us. Also, what recourse do we have if he regresses after the move? WHat responsibility does the new school district have in maintaining his learning curve?? A lot, I assume. Any ideas, thoughts?
