Guest guest
Well, it seems like Londynn is adjusting pretty good! I can tell you from my experience that Isabella doesn't sit a lot on the floor... she will usually kneel. We got her a Dora couch that folds out into a bed and she sits on that all the time as it allows her to lean back a little and not sit at a full upright position. It only took her a couple of days to figure out how to get things off the floor but she did it. Take it one day at a time, it will get easier! I don't have the food issues that you do but some kids don't know when to stop eating. I suggested to another parent the Gerber website... it helps to tell you how much they need (by age) at each meal and snack so you don't overfeed them. It helped me with my first one because I had no idea how much to give him. Good luck with everything! We just returned from Shriners SLC and what excellent people! Londynn is 14 months old and very mobile - the cast has not kept her from walking (nearly running) but she can't seem to sit on the floor and play with toys, crawl, pick things up from the ground, or get up from the floor. I am hoping this will only be a matter of time before she has all of these skills back, or an adaptation of them. We follow her around walking because if she gets off balance she falls backwards and hits her head. I know that when she returns to daycare tomorrow that they will not be doing this. Is all of this normal or should we be worried about any of this? She seems to be able to sit in her high chair perfectly - it clips onto the edge of the bar - at the moment that is the only place I feel comfortable walking away from her for even a second. She is sleeping in bed with us - because I am afraid she will get stuck rolling over and possibly suffocate. Another issue is that she likes to eat - in fact I don't think she can recognize when she is full. We are now having to be very careful of the amount of food she eats as she throws up almost every time she eats. On the plane coming home we gave her a cup of apple juice and about 10 animal crackers and she threw it all up - it seems like a whole lot more coming out than going in. Any advice on any of these matters would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Cyndy
