Guest guest
Hi, Everyone.....Liz....are you giving the Benadryl with the Melatonin? Maybe that's the problem....it's like a double dose. Who knows?!?!? Try just the Benadryl......unless that doesn't help her sleep. Take care, Everyone. Margaret **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Guest guest
MElatonin never worked for anyone in my house. Doesn't even make us sleepy! Tried 3 different kinds. But melatonin alatho it is plant based msut have side effects as well. We just don't have a pharmocopia that tells us what tose are. Looked in my natural medicine books but they don't give side effects for ANYTHING - not even St 's Wort or Valarian - both act as sedatives and St. 's Wort also as an antidepressent. But no side effects. HMMMM maybe that is a book yet to be written. > Hi, Everyone.....Liz....are you giving the Benadryl with the Melatonin? > Maybe that's the problem....it's like a double dose. Guest guest
Hi, Margaret! You are so right. It really causes havoc with our kids. We can definitely atest to that! Liz Liz <<our last resort was giving her Prevacid for her reflux, and guess what! It seems to be it was the reflux. Since Thurs. when we started her on the Prevacid, she is coming back to us...Not quite 100% yet, but much better than she had been.>> Hi, Everyone.....Liz.....this is so much like the path we had with Gareth. He had the wicked head banging and no speech until we got him on the Risperdal. It was only then that he could tell us 'food tube hurt.' His ped at the time immediately got him into a ped gastro in Chicago who did an endoscopy. His esophagus was 'raw meat.' All the yrs he had suffered from GERD and no one knew. I would push for any parent with a DS kid to have regular endoscopies due to the low muscle tone of DS kids. GERD is very prevalent in DS kids and if your child has the autism and little or no speech, then they may be suffering daily. Take care, Everyone.
