Guest guest
I told you Angelika and hope others will too, though not everyone had drains, they are more of a nuissance than anything else. However you cannot remove them youself you will need a Dr or maybe a nurse could do it. They pinch but they do not hurt until they come out then it is a split second pain and then relief, it is sort of like pulling a bandaide off slowly.......it smarts but compared to the actual implant surgery or explant surgery it is not bad, I hope others will share thier experiences with you too . Also you over the muscle implants so it is my guess your explant will be easier than mine though I cannot say for sure as I am not a Dr. Love, Hang in there, it will be over soon and then you can truly begin healing! ----- Original Message ----- From: " camattoni2000 " <angmattoni@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 2001 9:45 PM Subject: DRAINS! Guest guest
Angelika, I did just like you are doing, traveled from California to Cleveland to go to Dr. Feng for my explant. Try to think of the drains as your Friend! They really are, because they drain all of the fluid OUT of your body, instead of letting it accumulate inside, creating problems that you would rather not have. They are no big deal, and any discomfort that they cause is taken care of rather nicely with the pain meds you will be taking ;-) My advice is to not give them another thought ;-) As far as emptying them, your doc will explain that as well. It's easy. I have always found that when I adopt a certain mindset about something, that's the one that comes to pass. So if you think positively about the drains, realizing that they are only there to help give you the best result possible, you will no longer consider them an issue! Best of luck to you! (are you going to Dr. Feng, by any chance?) Tracey " camattoni2000 " <angmattoni@...> wrote: >I am being explanted on 1/18 out of state and coming back on the >20th. Guest guest
Well, I didn't allow enough time to STAY for the drains to come out. It took a few days longer than I was told, so be prepared, JUST in case. I stayed til they were removed, because I was very far from my surgeon. _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
I had the crud here too I went to a Dr and he said it is just the weather and not a virus whatever, I took antibiotics and they make me so nauseated, it is unusual for me cause I never get sick with this stuff but I am in a new state and it is really cold and dry here and lots of snow so that could explain it, I feel better though so I am hitting the gym today and then getting a massage at 3pm can't wait. Yeah, anyhow glad your better, I bet in time Dr Feng can fix up that issue you have, so glad to hear from you, I think you are a brave person and so awesome, love ----- Original Message ----- From: " elsa J. Guest guest
I am doing much better in many ways. I no longer have any numbness or tingling in the hands! I can SEW! woohoo! Before explantation, I couldn't even pick up a dime or handle a needle. There are many improvements, but as the swelling goes down in the left breast, and the knot is getting smaller, I am seeing how much breast tissue I really lost. I am very lopsided! I may need a few revisions at a later date, but can't even think about it now. Also, I got some virus...something like the flu, winter cold...something. It is very HARD to SHAKE. Everytime I think I am getting over it, it all seems so start over. My immune system still is wacko, I think. Guest guest
Jeena, It's possible that what feels like flu/cold/virus is the effects of the toxins stirred up in your explant as they work their way through your body. Be sure to drink lots of water to help flush the toxins from your body . . . take extra water soluable vitamins when you drink extra water too! Guest guest
I never thought of that! Can that cause me to have a lot of sinus drainage, too, you think? _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Jeena, Virus???? Eat raw garlic.... By the way, if you have to worry about someone else being around you while you stink from it, have them eat it with you! Then you both stink, so you don't even smell it! (It really works, ! See if will eat raw garlic with you sometime.) Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: " elsa J. " <elzaj@...> < > Sent: Thursday, December 13, 2001 3:12 PM Subject: Re: DRAINS!
