I have requested J's Ed Tech attend this IEP because I value her input and she spends so much time with him - the Special Education teacher told me that she doesn't think it is allowed and is clearly miffed that I asked for such a thing. I also asked if there would be a third grade teacher, from the new school, at the IEP meeting. She told me that they do not know class placements so they don't know who his teacher will be. I said it seemed silly for his 2nd grade regular ed teacher to be at the meeting since he won't be in her class next year.
