This is so funny and I can really relate to it. I happened to be at the

pool the other day and saw a little girl toe walking to beat the band. I

kept wondering if her mom had any inclining about the connection to toe

walking and learning disabilities. The mom seemed totally oblivious since

she was so busy talking with her friend that I'm sure she doesn't even

notice it. I was there once. Best,

Dear friends,

Had to laugh about diagnosing other kids.............It seems like I am

always " watching " other kids and how they act and respond also. I have been

concerned about a little girl in our church.

I'd like to add my thanks to and Kathy also. I think because it is

summer and we all have so much to do that we spend less time at the computer,

but I know that if I have a question for the list, I will get responses.

Take care everyone......hope the summer isn't too stressful with kids home

from school, routines upset, etc........

Beth

Here in Albuquerque, the parks dept. runs a Special Recreation programthat includes a camp experience. Louie did this and just loved it. :)The animal shelter volunteer deal sounds good too; Louie has a regulargig at a local wildlife nature center filling wild bird feeders (all 15of them!). He loves that one. He also goes with a group from his dayprogram to visit old folks in a local nursing home, twice a week, andhas developed a good relationship with an older lady there. :)Does your town have a day program for our guys? Might do some good tocheck. At Louie's, run by the same agency that runs

HI Annie

Nice ideas. We have a small town, about one hour and a half from a very large one ( CHICAGO). We have very little here unless sports. We do have park rec things, but not many. has done tennis there for many years, but the tennis teachers are now all his age or high school ( he is 9th in high school). He does not tolerate the waiting and the younger kids and their actions well. So, I decided to not sign him up this year.
