Guest guest
I loved the DS/ASD clinic at Hershey Medical Center and I would travel to use it rather than go to CHOP any day of the week. Guest guest
I would go to see Dr. Pipan. She is Tori's Dev. Ped. and we LOVE her. Her secy's # is Liz General question about autism My niece lives in Phila area, her little boy is 3 1/2, his nursery school teacher is questioning aspects of autism. My niece has agreed to have her son tested through the local IU. Who would anyone recommend in the area for testing forgeneral developmental delays. I go to Dr. Capone but then again he works with a DS crowd. If you were in her situaion who at CHOP is good to go to? I have heard of Dr. Pipan MD who tracks 0 to 36 months. She is at CHOP. Does anyone have any other DR. that they think is cool? She is in the doylestown/phila area.. Thanks people!!!! Sarno
Guest guest
Hi Dr. Pipan is the speaker that we heard at the afternoon workshop (Dual Diagnosis) on 4/12 at CHOP. I don't think I would refer your niece and her son to her specifically (though there may be an autism clinic there). Otherwise, Kennedy Krieger/s Hopkins has an excellent autism center-worth the extra hour drive. Do you believe I was saying Dr. Pipan after last week? But I did think she (Dr. Pipan) understood 0- 36 months real well. I did not want to send my niece to Dr. Capone because I felt he dealt with DS, and little Liam does not have DS he is typical at this point with delays. He is three and a half with 9 month delays, I am not sure in what area of development. It seems difficult for my niece to talk about it at this point in time. But if I call Capone's office they would probably help me find a developmental Ped. down at Kennedy Krieger. I do agree that KK is the best and they have helped all the way. I suppose the best thing is to just get a clear read on where a child is and what they need. I am also trying not to overstep myself and scare my niece because I sometimes think that ' dx is a little scary to the general populus. Trying not to laugh. Pray for me that I say the right things, and can be helpful. Let me know what you think? Thanks, Sarno > > > > > >

She told me 6-8 months at CHOP! Disgrace! But reality. It only took us two weeeks for Dr. Capone, I think we had an angel or something. That was about a year ago, and then I found this list serv and things are better! I feel so lucky! Sarno
