Guest guest
Holly, I hear you! But remember, autism is a spectrum...and they will present stories that have a lot of positive aspects to them. There are positive aspects to our kid's lives, too, but sometimes it is harder for those not familiar with our kids to see. I am glad there is good information being given out today, as it seems so many people's idea of autism is " Rain Man. Guest guest
Yes holly, I do especially when I hear all these good things they are doing. But for me , Meagan lost time, precious time for no-one would listen to me until she was 10 years old. And yes, it is still depressing to think my daughter and all people like her will struggle for the rest of her life.from ct --- Holly Giglio wrote: > I was curious if anyone else is feeling a little sad > at watching these shows. Guest guest
I've been watching CNN all morning, but I had to turn it off. Kayla got her autism diagnosis 10 months ago, it was around this time last year I knew something wasn't right. I thought that I had adjusted to this diagnosis by now, but they showed the video glossary from Autism Speaks and now I can't stop crying. I remember watching those videos a couple months after Kayla got her diagnosis, just wanting to confirm to myself (still in denial) that she did have autism. In EVERY one of those videos Kayla was EXACTLY like the Autism example. So seeing them again just brought a rush of emotions that I thought I had gotten over. Guest guest
Holly: I agree. But hopefully those watching will become more aware. Liz CNN I was curious if anyone else is feeling a little sad at watching these shows. I can't see Jake doing many of these things because of the cognitive delays associated with the DS. Maybe I am just in a funk. Holly

If 2 boxes, then you should share. If 2 cookies, never mind.
Guest guest
, I am PMSing so I can say honestly, I have eaten just about everything in the house today. I can't see Jake doing many of these things because of the cognitive delays associated with the DS. Maybe I am just in a funk. Holly
Guest guest
i also turned cnn off after awhile. They have also been showing many autism shows in the different movie channels and discovery channels this month. Some of them have been better, mostly a lot of the same info though, same story different day/person. Last night i watched a show on sevants (sp?) rather interesting. shawna To: @...: liz.desantis@...: Wed, 2 Apr 2008 13:00:19 -0400Subject: Re: CNN Holly: I agree.
