Guest guest
<<Sara, and group I feel so fortunate that you guys are supporting me.Thanks for everyones kinds words, and posts.>> I hate to be the bearer of bad news and I do not plan to expand on this topic further thereby turning it into some sort of debate but the fact of the matter is that not ALL members of this group are quite so supportive and not all members of this group wish to have our group aligned with Dr. Phil or Larry King. What you choose to do as an individual is just that. I hope you get all the help you want Cyndi. Sherry
Guest guest
I just wanted to thank the people who have supported me.Didn't we joint this group for support? Why did someone have to let me know that they do not support me. My mom said if you cannot say something nice then don't say it. If that affends others because I wanted to thank the people who said " nice " things about me and the fact I am trying to get our children with this very differently dual dg more help well, I guess I do not understand. Why did someone would object.Object to more doors being open to us, more resources,is that not what we all want? More help? Yes everyone has a right to their opinion and I have read about all the negative messages I care to read on Dr. Phil's website. I know what I am about. I am a loving mother who needs help and I took a stand to get it. Sorry if that offended someone. Cyndi B > > Wait a minute! Guest guest
My mom said if you cannot say something nice then don't say it. Not exactly how I wanted to come out of lurkdom but: I was taught to not say something often was seen as agreement.? I think the poster meant that , while we are here to be supportive of each other, it does not mean we must agree. I do support you in your quest for help, I will be here to be a shoulder to cry on or offer thoughts when asked or share information. However, I would not ever support someone's decision to abort.? So, I for one had a hard time with references to abortion.? That is a black and white issue for me and I do not believe in it under any circumstances.? I do not wish to debate that as I know how heated that can get.? I feel that type of comment and what others may have seen on the show could make a young pregnant mother think twice now about bringing her pregnancy to term.? That pains me, to think someone may feel their daughter or son has no value.? I gave birth to a child with syndrome.? He has value.? I adopted a baby with Downs syndrome and autism.? She has value.? I understand the struggles you go through.? But I could never support a decision to abort. It is not said in a judgmental way, just matter of fact.? We disagree, period. That said, I , one hundred percent, support the desire for help and bringing our struggles to the forefront.? If we did not love our children so much we would not bother.? Therefore, to me, that means that our children do have value.? I have tried several times to log onto Dr. Phil to put some of those folks in their place who bashed the show.? Most could not walk in our shoes for a day, let alone a lifetime. I shall continue to do so, because I do support you.? I believe most here support you in that way , in your daily struggles, but do not wish to have others associate this list with some of the comments you made.? That is not back stabbing but a continuation of the sharing we do on this board. ?Blessings, homeschooling Mom to AJ (13), (9), ^l^, (6, Trisomy 18 mosaic AKA 's syndrome) and Birgitta (age 4, adoption finalized 2/1/05 !!, Trisomy 21 AKA Down's Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Autism, SID) ----Original Message----- To: Sent: Wed, 26 Mar 2008 6:31 pm Subject: Re: Group Support I just wanted to thank the people who have supported me.Didn't we joint this group for support? Guest guest
Cyndi- I would never judge you, my child isn't quite like yours, but he does require way too much care than I know I can provide most days. The state doesn't help any and the only respite I get is when my oldest son watches the younger ones. I'm with and I'm glad you said it for the rest of us........Thanks On Wed, Mar 26, 2008 at 6:31 PM, wrote: > I just wanted to thank the people who have supported me.Didn't we > joint this group for support?
