Guest guest
Whether you eat peas or pea shoots, diabetics can eat them. Peas are a bit higher in carbs, like corn is, but it can be eaten in moderation. I don't know why the shoots would be different other than to have the green and can eat greens. I don't think any sprouts are high glycemic. That would really surprise me.  I bought a turkey avocado wrap at Whole Foods and I ate a part of one half and it was lousy. Had all kinds of sprouts but I didn't eat until a bit later and it was soggy and was breaking apart. Also had no dressing in it and all I can taste is onion (red) and can't see or find the avocado.  The greens or sprouts were boring and not very tasty. It contianed wheat and soy and was $8. Very disappointing. Maybe I'll dump out of the sprouted what tortilla and add some dressing and tomato. Even cucumber wasn't very good.   yuch.  I'll see if I have anything to check on pea shoots or pea sprouts, but sue don't think they will be like anything except greens. No greens that I know are high glycemic are they?     Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, April 2, 2012 9:37 PM Subject: Are pea shoots low glycemic?  I'm trying to find this out on google but all I get is talk about Peas, not pea shoots. I would imagine they are safe for diabetics because it's a sprout kind of thing. If anyone knows can they share please?
