Guest guest
Hi, Everyone.....Amber.....my one son (normal) can't take Benadryl because he's 'flying' all night on it. It knocks out Gareth and I, though. Maybe she is having a reaction to the Benadryl. Another thought is seizures. Does she understand words like hurt, show me, ouch, etc........anything to help you out to determine if it is medical. Gareth just had his first seizure in January and just started having them, too. Janet....welcome to the group. There are quite a few of you around the Chicago area. My son is Gareth, 19 y/o, with the dual dx of DS/Autism.......and a major case of OCD thrown in, too.. We use to live outside of Kankakee and Gareth would see Dr Kellman at the Children's Hosp in Chicago. He's a ped psych....maybe he could give you a definitive dx. CK.....it was so good to hear from you and Ian sounds as sarcastic as Gareth is at times!!! Gareth has really picked up some 'lines' from the college kids and, for the most part, does use them appropriately. One day I heard " That sucks " .............. " Excuse me?!?!? " I said........ " Oh, sorry, Mom " Depending on the anti-depressant, it may help with the OCD and he won't want to hear ONJ over and over and over and over again!!! Take care, Everyone.
