Jayne...google ammonia+bowel movement and ammonia+stool

Seems to be bacteria. Gotta go to bed

Sherry

Ammonia smelling stools can be attributed to bacteria overgrowth or nitrogen

being insufficiently digested or improperly metabolized. When food is

insufficiently digested, the non-absorbed food can then become food for harmful

bacteria, or just putrefy, in the gut. Either of these leads to toxins being

released in the body.

Let's get Irma to weigh in here...where is dat cwazy wabbit? probably stealing

cookies from the cookie jar. Oh my...I've lost it.

Jayne...the good news is that if it is bacterial he can be put on antibiotics to

kill it off. There may be an overgrowth of a certain " normal " bacteria like

klebsiella for example, due to the wheat detoxification. Remember the withdrawal

we talked about? Going GF can also lower the yeast count too. If he's giving off

toxins they can be making him act crazy. We use activated charcoal when is

detoxing and it helps with the symptoms. Does he take pills? If not you can open

a cap of activated charcoal. Trust me on this...it is black like pencil shavings

but it has NO taste. Mix it with applesauce or whatever he likes and try to give

it to him while he's not looking. His mouth will be black but this stuff is

great at soaking up the dieoff and toxins.

It is used very very often on the autism lists and the biomed type DS lists.

Margaret is right about a stool test and everybody unfortunately is right about

checking for seizures.

BUT....did you go totally GF cold turkey?? 5 days is a short time into it and he

may be feeling the pain of withdrawal badly.

I'll do some more searching on ammonia and poop later; Isn't this great???? a

whole new take on the poop talk?

It is the lack of imagination of medico's that forced us to come up with our

own descriptors for stools.!!! Now if we were to do an odor list for them,

think of the sinuses (and the minds) we could open??!!

Yes, guilty here did have a cookie, it is one of my weakness.

Sherry, I will have to agree with what everyone has posted so far,

stool analysis is needed indeed.

Does sound like Candida/Leaky Gut alright and the site you posted on

the Enzyme is one of my favorites.

If any bread intake with whatever has been triggering could last up to

6 months.

Jayne when you can google " Leaky Gut and autism " .

Elimination diet trial is good and you will notice some yay or nay

effects.

The only way any diet could help though is having to take care of the

gut first, get tested for Leaky gut, hope you have a doc that could

test for this, then have food allergy test (not always the best but at

least you will have something to go by), Cholesterol testing, thyroid

(which I believe you already have), the before and after upper/lower

scoping before applying the diet (can not remember if you had this

done already as I believe you've mentioned, ruled out Celiac, MRI,

diabetes, peptides, the list goes on example for the Nuerotoxins

Exposure, see how I am deep into the Bio-med disorder.

The newest added which is controversial but many of the lab result

markings have returned high is now Lyme Disease.

Anyways back causes of leaky gut syndrome

A little of my notes:

There are several causes of leaky gut syndrome including:

Overgrowth of candida albicans (yeast) in the intestinal flora

Over usage of antibiotics

Deficiency in digestive enzymes

Medications (NSAIDS, antacids, ibuprofen)

Caffeine consumption

High sugar consumption

Over consumption of refined floury products such white breads, pastas,

muffins and cookies

Stress

Poor liver function

Dietary approaches to leaky gut syndrome-

Individuals diagnosed with autism are more predisposed to food

sensitivities. Food sensitivity is defined as a heightened immune

reaction to a food item that in most systems would otherwise be

perceived as harmless. The most common food products to which autistic

children develop sensitivities are grains (e.g. wheat, rye, oats) and

dairy products (e.g. milk, cheese, whey). Other food culprits can

include refined sugars, caffeine, chocolate, food coloring and citrus

fruits.

Detecting which food may be exacerbating your child’s condition may

feel like finding a needle in a haystack. The best approach is to

follow an elimination diet by removing specific food items from your

child’s diet, one by one over a period of two to four weeks.

For autistic children, I recommend implementing a gluten-free diet at

first and keeping dairy to a minimum. If an improvement is not

noticed, switching to a diet that is completely dairy free is

recommended. Improvements in behavior can be noticed in children

anywhere from 24 hours to 4 weeks after making these dietary changes.

Stomach acidity in autistic children can also vary from child to

child. Many children with behavioral disorders either over secrete or

under secrete stomach acid, making digestion and absorption of

precious nutrients difficult.

Top 3 supplements for leaky gut syndrome

A high quality liquid multivitamin: The absorption rate of liquid

vitamins is higher. This is important for individuals who have a

compromised digestive system.

Acidophilus to ensure bowel flora is healthy: This is critically

important for children who have taken antibiotics frequently. For more

information, please google Good Bacteria.

Fish oils: These are beneficial in reducing inflammatory response and

in improving bowel health.

Jayne, check 's tongue, does it have any white lining, this is

a sign of leaky gut, another test have spit with his first

morning saliva into a clear water glass and see if you noticed

anything floating in the water.

Can't remember if I am posting this right but something like this.

has been keeping me busy, tomorrow back on the road to Austin

for some Fasting lab work, IV Chelation and then the next day back for

his Minerals, & then Friday for Ozone.

Some of the lab work is to rule out Cholesterol deficiency and Lyme

disease as he has not been doing well health wise and about a week ago

underwent the IV Chelation and thensome and finally it is nice to have

him back compared to his ongoing fever and just wanting to be in bed

and not get up at all, just not himself, felt like I was losing him,

have been emotionally drained but keeping my Faith once again learning

more with some top notch doc's who do a lot of research.

Treatment has helped detox whatever toxic which he is unable to flush out.

Remember, I would not recommend this for anyone unless you do

homework, consult with the medical professionals, lab work follow-up,

stool & urine test, Special diet, replacing the nutrients needed when

removing any food nutrient, learning about the right supplements, etc.
