Guest guest
This was in this month's Fitness Magazine and when I read it I thought it fit right in with what we've been discussing and our ideas about weight loss. I thought some of you might find it useful, too. A Resolution that's easy to keep As you begin the new millennium, forget the tired " I'll lose 15 pounds this year " resolution and promise to love your body for all it does for you. " People who feel guilty about gaining weight over the holidays tend to fixate too much on a number on the scale, " says Ann Kearney-Cooke, Ph.D., a body-image specialist in Cincinnati. Instead of setting a weight-loss goal, make a commitment to show your body that you care. " Keep track of what you're doing to promote a healthy body, not a perfect figure, " Kearney-Cooke says. That means eating fresh fruits and vegetables and exercising regularly, but also taking an active role in your preventive health by scheduling regular physicals and Pap smears and doing a monthly breast self-check.
