I could totally appreciate the IEP comments since we had ours today. Actually,

this was the " reevaluation/IEP " that we had to do just to get his PDDNOS on the

frigin IEP. I guess having documentation from 2 places, one including KKI

Autism Center just wasn't enough. And even with all the new information some in

the meeting still have the nerve to say " I am not saying he doesn't have

PDD.... " Okay, so one of the Autism test they did showed that he was in the

severely autistic range, the other test said " he probably is on the spectrum. "

And yet they still want to question? Go figure. We did get the change from

Primary : Mental Retardation, Secondary: Speech.Language Impairment to Primary:

Multiple Disabilities (MR,PDDNOS) Secondary: Speech/Language Impairment.

I particularly like the comment " I can already imagine you with duct tape over

your mouth " because that is totally how I feel with our speech therapist. She

grates on my nerves like no one else! I would love to have a hidden video

camera and leave her alone with Jake in our house for even 1 hour. Then she

would be qualified to tell me things about my child.

This past 3 months we have started Jake at an outside therapy program for

speech. Talk about a total difference! It is like night and day! This woman

gets so much out of him and she even let me video a full session. It was

awesome and Jake did great!

Anyway, that is my venting for the night!

Oh, and one other thing.....

Jake was laying in our bed last night before he went to sleep. He actually fell

asleep in our bed and we moved him which he never does. but anyway, he was just

laying there so peaceful and I was laying beside him rubbing his head and face

the way he likes. Do you ever just look at your sleeping child and get so

overcome by emotion? It still amazes me how much you can love your children.

When you watch that little sleeping child you just forget about all the other

crap that life throws at us, or places directly in your hand! ha! I know my

life is easier than some at the moment but I know we each have those moments. I

guess it is when we don't have those moments when we have to worry.

Hope everyone has a peaceful night full of sleeping children!
