Amusement park rides?

Well, the good news is that in August, my in-laws are taking all of

us to Disney World!

But the bad news is that I'm absolutely terrified about how Kayla

will act on the rides. She hates riding the little things at Chuck E

Cheese. What am I going to do with her at Disney World? I doubt that

she would even be interested in something like " It's a Small World "

and I wonder how I will get her to sit still and not panic. I'm

afraid the whole experience will be just too much sensory stimulation

for her.

I almost feel bad taking her. She'll be so out of her routine and

won't like the rides, or the shows, or the characters. She'll just

sit in the stroller like luggage. And then I feel bad that my in-laws

have to pay for Kayla since she's not going to " get it " . Of course,

my IL's say it's no big deal, Kayla has to come or else her sister

will wonder why she DIDN'T come.

Anyway, should I try to get her used to rides (and noise!) and try to

get her to keep riding the rides at ChuckE? Or should I just accept

that she's just going to spend a week stuck (but happy) in the

stroller?

Obviously our kids all react differently, but my son LOVES the rides, roller

coasters included. He's not thrilled with crowds or noise, but he does very

well when we go to amusement parks. He is 15 now and in some ways a typical

teenager, even though his mental age is much lower.

You never know, she may surprise you. Surely there is something she would

enjoy at DW. There is so much to choose from. Epcot might be a better choice

for her with all the live entertainment and the aquarium. The movie in the

Chinese exhibit is wonderful too, assuming they haven't changed it in the last

few years.
