<<just a little ticked off that dh is ALWAYS working when the poop hits the

fan and he hasn't taken one of his allowed paid 2 week vacations in over 4

years.) Gee you think he'd rather be at work?>>

Hi, Everyone.....Sherry....LOL...yes, my DH is always gone, too, as you

already know. I had no idea the divorce rate was so high for *us*. As for

today, the poop hit the fan big time. DH is in Mobile, Al., and I am home with

a

sick Gareth. At 9:00, I hear the spinning wash machine come to a crashing

stop and all the power goes off. I go to the washer and hear all sorts of

banging, hissing, and see sparks flying outside the window. I run outside, in

the snow, in my slippers to witness the transformer exploding, and the wires

attached to the side of the house hissing and on fire. I run back into the

house and grab the phone, run back out to make sure it is still on fire before

calling 911, try to call 911 only to realize the phone is dead. Run back into

the house to find my cell phone (thank God for cell phones!!!), run back out

to make sure it is still on fire, and call 911. I run back into the house

(all the time saying repeatedly " Oh, my God, please don't let the house burn

down " ) and yell at Gareth to get up off the couch and put his shoes on, grab

the keys to start the van, run to watch the wires burn some more, run back

into the house and tell Gareth to sit on the couch 'cuz the house isn't on fire

(yet), grab the cat carrier and spend 2-3 minutes getting the scared cat

into the carrier. Run back outside to check the burning wires, hear no sirens

yet, and recall 911 " Where the hell are you guys? " So, they finally arrive

when there is only one wire left burning and tell me it has to burn itself

out. Geeeeeeeeee, I could have let it do that myself!!! The power company

shows up an hour later and spends the next 11/2 hrs redoing the wiring and,

then, tells me that the landlord had better do something soon because of all

the

exposed and rotted wires on the outside of the house. GREAT!!!

Then.........we start the afternoon. I finally get a call back from G's

doc....yes, bring him back in today at 3:00.......we were just in Monday for a

chest X-ray and doc appt. Well, Mr G has pneumonia...........again. CT scan

after the doc visit and get sent home at 5:30 to go get more antibiotics at

CVS. Of course, all Gareth has been concerned about since 5:00 is eating!!! He

has to go back to the doc tomorrow morning for a antibiotic shot in the

butt.....don't know why they just didn't do it today, but what the heck!!! I

was

suppose to start work last week....M-F 8:30-3:00. I have worked 31/2 days

out of the last 8 that I was suppose to work and won't be working tomorrow or

Fri. Do you think I will still have a job?!?!? Then..........DH calls as

we are leaving the hospital, all chipper, of course, " so how was your day? "

I call my kid sis on the cell driving home and her and I start laughing

about the day!!! It's all you can do!!!

Oh, Jayne.....G's temp has been 100 all day. Yesterday it was 96 or 97.

Today, he is talkative, roudy and driving me nuts. Nothing like you would

expect a kid with pneumonia to act. He even apologized to me in the CT room

for

being sick!!!

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
