I always joked with the kids that Maddie is the only one in the family who's allowed to curse, and not just because she's non-verbal. I'd never be able to wash her mouth out with soap....LOL Donna **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. Guest guest
I've picked up these new phrases from the students I work with.. One is low functioning, and the others are Aspies. -We don't stare at door jambs. -No video talk please. -Use your normal voice please. -Please close your legs when you pee. (We love to watch it go all over!) -In order to cook it, it has to get hot. -It is not a broken face day. Guest guest
Tori just LOVES getting blood drawn or getting a needle...and it is a big field trip when we go. She always asks to get a pinchy. As long as she gets a band-aid on her finger...she is a happy camper. She sings " We will rock you... " as it is being done. Guest guest
Wow, I had to take jake for a blood draw yesterday and it was not a pretty thing. He fought like his life depended on it and then they had to stick him twice. he got a big ice cream for the drama. Holly 100 things you thought you would never have to say to your ki... How about.. She'll make more of a fuss when they try putting one on than the needle. Donna **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. Can tolerate blood draws and actually will express when he is beginning the process of the IV's, he is such a trooper. Donna, waiting on you to post about Maddie's dolls with their heads turned away or face down. Reminds me back of that show " Twightlight Zone " when I was a youngster or was it called " Project Terror " ? Anyways involved about the dolls, so can relate on the stares. ; ) Irma,19,DS/ASD
