Guest guest
E3 Dr Rao et al ASPARTAME 1972 May report: Dr Rao et al fed animals for 4 weeks with SC 18862 (ASPARTAME) Remarkably like the E2 report and showing that EFSA does have a bizarre system of numbering the research papers. This comes earlier in the research than E2 but later in the EFSA catalogue of papers. No matter. This looks a little bit like the later study, different animals but often the same worrying signs; that of the heavy coating in the stomach appears again. This time far from weight gain we have a refusal to eat. This contradicts the later work and hence shows a disequilibrium in the eating patterns with some eating more and risking obesity while others risk starvation. Again you wont find anything so blunt in the paper. Feeding SC 18862 causes NO biologically meaningful alteration in body weight, food consumption or gross postmortem findings. So there you have it: NO refusal to eat. NO problems with the stomach But remember the idea is to get this TOXIN into the food chain not KEEP IT OUT.
