Guest guest
: I love and traveled from PA to MD to have him see Tori. Tori is a major head banger, and we have just started doing heavy sensory input (Tori sandwich) and the head banging has but almost disappeared! Just a suggestion! Liz Speaking of Dr.Capone We live in south Georgia. My son is 9yr and been dignosed with DS and PDD-NOS.... of course list of allergies and sensory and auditory issues. He been on Risperdal since he was about 6yrs old. He is a headbanger. It comes and goes with Risperdal. We tried Drugs for ADHD but major body suppressent (no eating or drinking). He has OCD things like touching certain spots all the time and the anxiety so we are on 3rd month of zoloft 25mg. Yes I can tell a little difference not much. He is trying to talking FINALLY of course it comes and go day to day. It is signs mostly. I keep hearing Dr. Capone name and wondering would he be a good place to start. I have 3 other kids, 2 of them have DS also. I know we have to pay out of pocket because GA medicade would not cover out of state.
Guest guest
Ditto here about Dr. Capone. Love him! He is very patient and understanding and very matter of fact about the whole thing. He loves to share information and is all for trying anything that we as parents might think will help. My house is open to ou if you come. I am only about 35 or 45 minutes from the office. It is nice to be so close but we also pay out of pocket, or at least out of medical assistance because we too go from PA to MD. Holly Speaking of Dr.Capone We live in south Georgia. Guest guest
, i am also in GA but in the NOrth. I have been hearing about a place in ATL. How far are you from the Marcus Institute? I understand that they have good people for evaluating and treating. > > We live in south Georgia. Guest guest
: Have you had a sensory eval done on him? They may be able to shed some light on what he is seeking. Guest guest
Thank you so much for that info! I will check it out. I know we almost went to a DS clinic at Stanford, but there is one locally with our regional center, and I really need some info with the Autism etc.
Guest guest
Is anyone involved in Dr. Capone's dual diagnosis research studies? How do you get involved in them? I'd love Dr. Capone to learn all about Kayla if it will help others, especially other professionals, understand more about the dual dx. I'm debating on taking Kayla to see him, maybe before Kindy, since I'm still very confused on what to do with her when that time comes. It involved bloodwork for her and my other daughter (they used a sibling as the control), and an MRI. He asked me if I would participate. I guess you could email him and tell him you're interested.
